DATA PROTECTION OFFICER

The Data Protection Officer is a person appointed by the data controller and processor as per Article 37 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016. The officer is responsible for ensuring the protection of personal data and the free movement of such data, and the repeal of Directive 95/46/EC (General et al.). The duties of the Data Protection Officer are defined in Article 39 of the General Data Protection Regulation. These responsibilities include: – Informing and advising the processing manager or processor and the employees who perform the processing about their obligations under this Regulation and other provisions of the Union or a member state regarding data protection. – Monitoring compliance with this Regulation and other provisions of the Union or a member state on data protection and ensuring the policies of the controller or processor are in line with the protection of personal data. This includes raising awareness, training personnel participating in processing procedures and conducting related audits. – Providing advice, upon request, regarding data protection impact assessment and monitoring its implementation by Article 35. – Cooperating with the supervisory body. – Acting as a contact point for the supervisory authority on processing matters, including the prior consultation referred to in Article 36 – general regulations and consultation, as necessary, on all other issues. The Data Protection Officer is required to maintain confidentiality and secrecy while performing their duties under the law of the Union or the law of a member state.
